Gingerbread Recipe for Figures
Delicious gingerbread recipe perfect for Christmas treats. Crisp, flavorful, and full of holiday spices.
Ingredients
- 300g butter
- 300g sugar
- 0.5 tsp ground cloves
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 dl dark syrup
- 2 eggs
- 4 tsp baking soda
- approx. 900g wheat flour
Instructions
- Melt butter, sugar, and syrup in a pot until the sugar dissolves. Add the spices and stir well.
- Remove from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly before adding the eggs.
- Add baking soda and gradually sift in the flour until a firm dough forms.
- Let the dough rest in the fridge for at least half an hour.
- Roll out the dough to about 2-3 mm thickness, cut out figures, and bake at 175°C for about 10 minutes.
- Cool the cookies on a rack and decorate with royal icing.
